Tesla 2025 Model Y Officially Launched
The 2025 Model Y, also known as ‘Opal’ or ‘Juniper’ has officially launched on Tesla’s Australia store. With leaks earlier today and over the past few months, we now have official confirmation of the design and Australian pricing.
Expected to have deliveries begin in May 2025, the ‘New Model Y’ is being sold under the ‘LAUNCH SERIES’, as a limited release with a new exterior and interior, as well as optional upgrades and customization options.

The New Model Y Exterior
As exposed by various leaks, we now have confirmation of the New Model Y. Available in 5 starting colours of
- Pearl White Multi-Coat
- Glacier Blue
- Stealth Grey
- Quicksilver
- Ultra Red
Interestingly enough, all the colours are the same price, so we can expect more variety on our roads compared to a flood of white.
In Australia, the only option for wheels is currently the 20″ Helix 2.0 Wheels
The New Model Y Interior
The Australian right hand drive version of the new 2025 Model Y interior comes in either ‘All Black’ or ‘Black and White’
It also features the enhanced, larger touch screen, and remains a circular steering wheel, so no ‘squircle’ for the CyberTruck fans unfortunately.
Often a center for massive debate around the Highland model, the steering wheel stalks are still included. While it’s not confirmed if it is both stalks, or just a singular one, and if so, indicator or shifter, we know we’ll have at least one.

There is no confirmation of when we will get the Performance model, or how much it will cost yet. For those who can’t wait, the Long Range model gives a significant boost in power and range for only $10,000 more.
Full Self-Driving Capability autopilot package remains at $10,100, with Enhanced Autopilot being $5,100.
